The Foundation Level provides a first taste of the coffee discipline and is a great way to gain insight into a module that will help you decide if you want to continue learning more.

This course is designed to give students sufficient general knowledge about coffee beans, basic recipes for all drinks on an Espresso menu, standard operating procedures (espresso preparation routine and milk steaming routine) and the daily cleaning activities to maintain coffee equipment, so that the student can start their journey with solid foundations and develop quality skills at home or under the guidance of a head barista at work (in a coffee shop).

Typically, students enroll in this course before finding a job as a barista (or within a week or two of starting a coffee career) or when purchasing coffee equipment for home use.
